Taking pictures of people gives me a great opportunity to express my perception of and feelings about them, about their lives. My camera has taught me to perceive the beauty of a human body. I never fully understood what eroticism and erotic really meant until I started looking at nudity through the view-finder of my camera.

Nudity itself is not erotic. Nudity is not even beautiful. It is the bundle of light and shadows and angles, a tempting mixture of passion and smiles and innocence, a truly mysterious hodge-podge of innumerable "Elements of Creation" huddled into a split of a second that make nudity erotic and the erotic beautiful.

I feel very lucky that I can court this beauty on the daily basis, and happy that I can share it with others.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that was going on inside.
He said, "Grandson, it is between two wolves. One is evil: anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good: beauty, harmony, joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one I feed."
As an artist living in the strange times that seem to honor arrogance as a virtue, it is my intention to feed the good wolf in me and keep awake all the good wolves in others, discovering and capturing the endless beauty around us and within us.
